Reflection

As I take this time to reflect back on this past year (2008) I realize that I did not accomplish everything I was set out to do, but I do know that I am changing as a person. They say the body changes every 7 years, I guess I thought that was just the physical body, but I believe it’s all a person’s state of mind that changes right along with it. I feel more like a woman as I age. I may not have the best love in my life as regards my marriage, but I do have love. I may not be as spiritual minded as I once was, but I am spiritual. I may not be as weak as I once was because I am a lot stronger. I may not be a giving as I once was but I am still giving. I may not be able to dance like I used to or be as spontaneous as I used to be, but I can still dance and I still love the little spur of the moment fun times.

So much has happened in 2008. A few days ago I was on Youtube during my break time (at home) and decided to look up some old school hip hop. Not only did I find everything I was looking for, but I had my Daughter dancing with me to many of the songs. I mean I went WAY BACK! Then I got back to work.

My Why and My Reasons

This is my beautiful Daughter. I call her my little butterscotch beauty. She is the MAIN reason why I am working my business. I want to have the time freedom to be available to her and for her. See, I cannot do that working full time. When I had to go back to work because of our financial situation at that time (3 and 1/2 years ago) and drop her off at daycare I cried. Even though she was safe with a family friend who happened to run a daycare service out of her house…..I cried like a baby. I was angry too. I always told myself that if I ever had children I would want to be a stay at home Mother, but life and circumstances would not let that be. I am doing all I can do though to rectify that and intend on accomplishing my goals.

Last night reminded me of why I am not going to quit. First of all, I had a Lifestyle Party to conduct. I drove way out to Bronx, NY for it. Half the guests were over an hour late, I was very tired by nights end, got lost on the way home and still did some grocery shopping before I finally reached the front door! The result of that night? Sales were made and 2 bookings for more Lifestyle Parties were produced.

On top of that, a lot of people had let me down BUT something good came from it. The business opportunity call I conducted last Monday night produced a new business partner! but get this, she is coming on board and wants to bring 4 people with her!

It was a lonely Monday night business opportunity call that I had conducted. My outline was ready, I was ready. I invited 4 prospects to the call and was hoping they would all make it. I also informed my team about the call and asked them to invite their prospects too, but none of my team members were able to make it on the call that night and more obviously neither were their prospects. Did that deter me? Of course not!

Here is what happened with the 1 person who took the time out to listen and learn more about Soul Purpose:

1. She loved what she heard – I then invited her to attend an event where the President and CEO of the company, Nadine Thompson was going to be.

2. She listened and went to the event and had a great time! It was very exciting for her.

3. She called me that same evening very excited about joining Soul Purpose.

4. We talked and she had already spoken with 4 people and these people are waiting for her to come on board so they could sign up under her!

All it took was 1 person and all it took was for me to make her a part of a list of prospects that I wanted to invite on that call. All I did was invite her and look what happened!

See I already have my why for working the business. I already know what needs to be done to accomplish my goals. When times get tough so what, because times WILL get tough. That’s just the way it is.

There will be disappointments along the way, but because everything I do leads right back to the beginning of why I joined this business in the first place. I always think about my Daughter. I always think about retiring my Father before I bury my Father, I always think of the time freedom I want, I always think of wanting to fire my boss, I always think of being able to help provide for my family, I always think about change, wanting something different, enjoying what I do because I do, wanting to DO something different to change my circumstances and making it happen.

My why and my reasons are strong and I am ready to take it to another level. I have a “keep it moving, never give up type of attitude” and that is a great attitude to have.
